From as early as I can remember, I have struggled with my weight.. I’ve tried numerous diets and had some big failures but also some great successes. However, as many people know, it’s so hard to maintain it and I seem to have lost all motivation lately (as well as developing a new love for Cadbury Twirls). After following weight watchers ‘on and off’ for quite a while, I decided that I needed a change to help me get back on track and that’s how I discovered the ‘Exante Diet Plan’. I’m a firm believer of losing weight in a healthy way and I’ve done enough fad diets to know that claims of ‘ultra fast weight loss’ just don’t work so although the Exante Diet Plan is a meal replacement plan, I’m going to mix it up with heathy meals as well.
I ordered the 2 Week Box and within that are a mixture of soups, curries, shakes, bars and even the ingredients for banana pancakes! I’ve previouly tried a diet where I only drank shakes for two weeks (which was absolute hell!) so the fact that there is a great variety of foods makes a massive difference to me. Each meal is only 200 calories so I’m intending to have this for breakfast and lunch and then I’ll finish off with a healthy home made meal. There is tons of inspiration for meals on the Exante.com website so I feel fully informed and excited to start!
Here are some of the tips Ive picked up to help me succeed on this Exante journey but which are relevant for any weight loss journey:
Write Down Small Achievable Goals
I have a big family wedding this August and I know that I need to lose a good few pounds before then but instead of freaking myself out, I’m breaking it down into small goals. My first goal is Valentines Day which is just 4 weeks away and as my hubby and I always go for dinner to celebrate, I’ve planned to lose 7 pound by then. This is just over 2 pound a weeks so I definately think that’s achievable. I’m not even thinking about my next goal until I smash this one so watch this space…
Get weighed once a week
I have a great set of scales and as soon as Im following a diet, I’m on and off them by the minuts. So often, after just a couple of days, I start beating myself up because I havent seen the results I was expecting and then consequently go totally off track. This time, I’m committed to just weighing once a week!
Drink Lots Of Water
I’m sooo bad at drinking water throughout the day and when I’m at work, you will most likely find my in the Costa Coffee queue getting my daily dose of caffiene. With the Extane 2 week box, you also get your very own water bottle which holds about 500ml so I’m going to try and get through 4 of these throughout the day (even though Ill have to spend pretty much all day in and out of the toilets!)
I’m also really bad at ‘meal planning’ and I’m often digging in the freezer to figure out what we can have for dinner. To help with this, I’ve already planned my meals for the next 7 days and I went shopping today and have everything in that I need. Its great to feel so organised and in control.
Plan some light exercise
Finally, I’m going to try and plan in some light exercise. I’m one of those ‘all or nothing’ people so usually when I start a new diet plan, I sign up for the gym and every class going for the first week and then cosequently never go again! This time, I’m trying to be realistic and Im planning in just a few evening walks. I’ve got a step counter so If I can try and hit the healthy 10,000 step quota, I will be happy!
